48
Hours Cover-up of the Real Jeremy Perkins Story
Although
we never treated Jeremy at our clinic, we were shocked and
terribly saddened when we heard he had murdered his mother,
Elli Perkins. Ellie was a very special woman who cared deeply
about her son.
Ellie
was determined to help Jeremy, and as part of the research
she did into alternative methods to help him, six months
before the tragedy Ellie brought Jeremy to see us, but only
for a consultation. Jeremy never became one of our patients.
It
really disturbs us to see the media exploiting the story
of one woman who sought alternative approaches to the destructive
practices of psychiatry in an attempt to help her son.
We
are struck by the irony that we have never seen "news
stories" criticizing the parents or religions of the
children who murder their classmates after their parents
followed "expert advice" and put them on dangerous
anti-depressant medication.
These medications are still being prescribed and promoted
even though they have finally been properly labeled as being
dangerous to young people as they cause
violence and suicide ideation.
We
have to wonder what vested interests are preying upon this
tragedy, twisting the facts, and omitting vital information
about what really happened with Jeremy.
Dr. Jeffrey Schaler psychologist and professor in the Department
of Justice, Law and Society at American University's School
of Public Affairs in Washington, D.C., spent more than three
hours with 48 Hours, providing
them factual information on this subject. Why was that
not included in the program?
