Ep 136 - Why Diabetes and Amputations Are on the Rise

Diabetes is on the rise, so is gangrene, and and so are lower extremity amputations. Why is this?

Elevated blood sugar is NOT diabetes. Diabetes is the disease — and AS A RESULT of the disease — the blood sugar elevates. Insulin resistance is a contributing factor. What can you do about this besides taking medications that are leading to more amputations?

There ARE other things you can do besides taking a drug to lower your blood sugar. Again, elevated blood sugar is NOT diabetes — it is a SYMPTOM of diabetes. If you’re just treating the symptom and not the problem, don’t be surprised if you don’t get the results you would like.
